GO Community: Educators & Facilitators

GO empowers youth to participate in our mission of providing basic human needs to orphans and vulnerable children throughout the developing world by raising awareness and funds for small grassroots organizations that enable them to survive and thrive.

Bringing GO to Life — Nurturing student energy, minds and potential to make a difference in the world.

One of GO Campaign's goals is to empower today's youth to become engaged citizens and make a difference in the lives of their peers around the world. GO provides easy access to the information, resources and tools to:

  • Learn about the real-world challenges facing children globally
  • Appreciate and experience personal connections with youth of different cultures
  • Meet the challenges of the 21st century with solutions to safeguard our future

In collaboration with professional educators, GO Campaign has created user-friendly learning tools to help teachers, after-school coordinators, youth group leaders and administrators teach and take part in GO's mission.

Why use GO Learning Tools — GO Learning Tools are an effective and great way to:

  • Enrich your current curriculum with creative, meaningful and engaging activities
  • Help students develop the critical thinking skills needed in higher education
  • Promote cross-cultural understanding through real-world experiences
  • Bring hope and help promote solutions to the challenges faced by tens of millions of youth throughout the world
  • Provide students with additional ideas and resources for fulfilling community service requirements and/or to engage in service opportunities

The Basis of GO Learning Tools — Think Globally, Act Locally!

GO Learning Tools take your students on a virtual field trip across the globe. Simple and straightforward, the learning tools are comprised of Lesson Plans (short activities, usually completed in 1 or 2 class sessions) and Units (multi-dimensional lesson plans for multiple class sessions); all of which are supported by resources and materials found on GO's website.

Learning tools are based on the three founding principals of GO's mission that we call Action Areas:

  • Securing Children's Needs: Providing children with basic human needs to survive and thrive. GO helps orphans and vulnerable children reach their potential to create a brighter future by securing necessities such as education, shelter and health care.
  • Sustaining Projects & Communities: Providing funds for organizations that ensure resources are used wisely with long-term sustainability. From income generating micro-enterprises to leadership training, GO partners only with small local grassroots organizations that meet our strict funding standards.
  • Connecting Youth Globally: Facilitating communication and cross-cultural understanding, leading to positive change. Through autobiographies, pictures and videos, GO connects youth and adults from all parts of the world in one common cause: giving opportunity to children.

Key Features:

  • Guided step-by-step outline of instruction
  • Ideas and suggestions for implementing service in your curriculum (akin to service-learning), classroom extensions and community-service fulfillment
  • Adaptable to suit your students' education level and learning environment (public or private schools, after-school programs, youth group retreats, etc.)
  • Aligned with Curriculum Standards of the National Council for Teachers
  • Link to disciplines such as Language, Social Studies, English, Economics, Technology, Geography, Guidance and Leadership Development

By teaching with GO Learning Tools, you and your students become part of the global GO Community -- the greater the Community becomes, the more children we are able to help!

GO Learning Tools have been created by your fellow educators to assist you in engaging your students and help you to create an exciting curriculum with a long lasting impact. We welcome your feedback, and if you would like to contribute a lesson plan or unit of your own, please let us know by emailing Sharon Feder.
