When I talk about GO it makes me feel like I want to do something to help. I don’t just want to feel sad. You have to have something to do about it.

The 2nd Annual GO GO Gala was a Spectacular Night of Fundraising

November’s second annual GO GO Gala, held at Social Hollywood and sponsored by Beachbody, was a resounding success! The dinner-fundraiser, hosted by GO supporter and friend Ewan McGregor, brought together celebrities, donors and youth philanthropists to raise over $300K to benefit orphans and vulnerable children throughout the world.

The festivities kicked off with a marimba band, dancing butterflies and a stilt-walking peacock while guests mingled with celebrities such as Jonah Hill, Cheryl Tiegs, Jesse Metcalfe and Danielle Bisutti. Ewan spoke of his personal GO connection and the children impacted by the organization while Honoree Blake Mycoskie, Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes, was awarded the Giving Opportunity Award for his far-reaching humanitarian efforts. Guest speakers included project partners from Kenya, Haiti and Liberia as well as youth supporters who are actively fundraising to make a difference in children’s lives. Exhilarating performances by musical genius Dave Stewart and his Rock Fabulous Quartet and cirque aerialists entertained and wowed guests at the colorful, butterfly-themed event.

100% of the night’s proceeds go directly to programs for children, such as building classrooms and a vocational program in Peru, providing a mobile teaching unit in Haiti, renovating a safe home and learning center in Liberia for child refugees, building an eco-friendly facility for a youth-led recycled-paper micro-business in Kenya and feeding orphaned babies in China and more.
