Biography

Margaret Mponda is the founding member of the Children of Destiny and is a mother figure to all the children. She has previously worked with different orphanages in Tanzania, so her experience and deep love for these vulnerable children helped make Children of Destiny possible. In addition to running the orphanage, Margaret works with an import-export start-up company in Moshi, which provides some of the much needing running costs for the Children of Destiny. She holds a Business Certificate and a Certificate in Tourism from Sheratom College, Tanzania. Margaret and Children of Destiny have created a small and happy orphanage. They are committed to 27 children and share the successes of each of their children with their friends and supporters. Without the help and love of Children of Destiny, these children would have few resources to support them. Many of the street children in Moshi have been orphaned due to AIDS related illnesses and deaths, and as a result, they are in need of shelter and care. Children of Destiny is their opportunity for a better life.
