Biography

Samuel Gogoe was born on January 24, 1972 in La, Accra. La is a fishing community and typically children in this area have less interest in formal education. This was not true of Samuel. After secondary school, Samuel was assigned to be a primary school teacher in a rural area on the outskirts of Accra for his National Service. During his year of service, he was shocked and moved by the poverty that his students experienced. He had not seen this before. When able, he would use his service allowance to buy his students uniforms, shoes, and books. This experience ignited Samuel’s passion to help provide quality education to vulnerable children. To fulfill his dream, Samuel continued his teaching career and then founded Covenant Academy (now called Covenant Royals) in 2005.
